We are excited to bring back The Paladin Playhouse Summer Theater Camp at South Plantation High School!
Director Jason Zembuch Young, Choreographer Ron Hutchins and Vocal Director Chris Santanelli are reuniting to once again offer children ages 7-13 the opportunity to experience the thrill and excitement of the performing arts.
No other summer camp offers the comprehensive curriculum (and FUN!) that The Paladin Playhouse Summer Theatre Camp offers so sign up early while slots are still open!
OVERVIEW
The Paladin Playhouse Summer Theater Camp is a 6 week summer camp beginning June 24th and runs Monday through Thursday, 9am - 4pm, wrapping up on August 1 with a full mainstage production of Jungle Book Kids.
Campers will be placed into age-appropriate groups for all classes and will be adjusted based on main-stage production needs. The curriculum will cover subjects including acting, dance, vocal instruction and stagecraft (see sidebar to your right), all of which will result in a fully produced end-of-camp production of Jungle Book Kids on the Paladin Playhouse stage, complete with lights, make up, costumes & music.
TUITION
Camp tuition is as follows:
$850.00 per camper if paid in full before May 1, 2024
$900.00 per camper if paid by June 1, 2024.
TUITION DUE IN FULL BY JUNE 1, 2024.
If sending more than one child per family deduct $50 per additional child.

9am – 12pm Classes
Acting/Stage Movement – Campers will learn the basic principles of acting and stage movement including: characterization, partner work, stage directions and positions, and stage movement.
Dance for the Musical Stage – Campers will be introduced to some of the more traditional styles of dance for musical theatre; including jazz, ballet, and modern. Throughout the class, they will also learn comprehensive warm-up techniques and several routines.
Vocals for the Musical Stage – Campers will learn how to properly warm up their voices and be instructed on proper vocal placement and breathing. Vocal coaching will focus on pitch and intonation as well as style.
Pantomime/Improvisation/Theatre Games – Campers will be introduced to the basic principles of both pantomime and improvisational acting and how to use these principles in order to create dynamic scenes.
12pm – 1pm Lunch (Bring your Own or Lunch Options Available For Purchase)
1pm – 4pm Production Work
Students will be exposed to multiple facets of production including set design and construction, scenic painting, props, costumes, and makeup.
Rehearsal: Blocking and Choreography. This time will be dedicated to staging and choreographing the main-stage production. Students will now have the opportunity to use the skills they have been learning in the classes.
